Who do we think we are?

ZEcurios is an emporium for the not so common; a destination for people looking for unique, one of a kind design items and pieces from a path less travelled. 

We are a small, grass-roots operation run by a tight-knit community of friends and family; a collective of varied local artists and dealers from the Greater Calgary Area.  ZEcurios is our platform to showcase and sell everything from artworks to antiquities. 

What's in a name?

"Curio" :  Cu-ri-o   /ˈkyo͝orēˌō/
(noun) a rare, unusual, strange or intriguing object that evokes curiosity.

"ZE" comes from a pair of gentle souls, one quiet and reserved, the other soft and clown-like.  It is short for Zoot and Emma, two black lab litter-mates my wife and I were fortunate enough to have had in our family since they were just 10 weeks old.  Sadly, at the beginning of 2017 Emma  passed of old-age related health issues and then a short nine months later, because of cancer, time came for Zoot to  join her sister one final time.  They are both sorely and profoundly missed; our time together far too short, but a treasure beyond imagination.

Well, two years have passed and though Zoot and Emma are still in our hearts, being “dogless” is no way to exist. So, let me introduce a new addition to the ZEcurious family. This is Zeta (named after those who came before her), she’s a Black Lab/Whippet cross rescue. She’s a bundle of energy and likes to be in the thick of everything (Zoot would not have approved of her antics). She can be a hand full, but she is loved.
