The magic of Photography is an amalgamation of both science and art. Pinhole Cameras and the Camera Obscura date back centuries and spread across many cultures, but modern cameras and the photography process as we understand it today was born in the early 1800's. ZEcurios has a wide range of subject matter thanks to multiple contributors, with an even larger library of images available not shown below, so if you had something specific in mind and don't see it please ask us.

Speaking to us as though from a dream there is something special about the monochromatic way the grey's of a black and white image communicates to us. The absence of colour simultaneously simplifies and heightens detail bringing focus of our perception.
Morning Fog
Crisp, silent and calm. Fog is a rarity in a climate as dry as Calgary. That is why it is all the more a treasure when on occasion we are lucky enough to experience the ghostly pale beauty of frost and fog off the Bow River in the early mornings of winter.
Natural Wonders
Alberta is blessed with some of the world's most beautiful scenery and vistas; from the harsh haunting badlands, to the wide open prairie skies, to the truly monolithic Rocky Mountains. The wonders of the natural world can comfort weary souls, evoke spectacular awe and humble the minds greatest delusions all with nothing more than simply existing.
